There are probably two of the most well-known rum distilleries in the world right in the island of Jamaica: the Appleton Estate and the Worthy Park Estate.

The blend of Jamaica’s lush climate, fertile terrain and spring water source creates a unique environment that gives the perfect sugar cane growing conditions – which is, the principal ingredient of rum.

The Appleton Estate is situated around 2 hours and 45 minutes from Aquamarina Villa, in the southwestern area of the island, in a one-of-a kind mystical location in Nassau Valley. Its peculiar terrain naturally filters the rain and produces streams of azure water that gives an extraordinary flavor to the sugar cane growing there.

The tour organized on their estate is a truly sensorial journey into the art of rum making. The Worthy Park distillery is even closer, only 50 minutes away from your accommodation. The place is located at 1200 feet above sea level, in the cool hills of Lluidas Vale, St. Catherine. This new guided rum tour will immerse your senses in the sights, sounds, flavors, aromas and craft of 100% Pot Still distilled rum making. You will have the chance to explore the distillery, the ageing warehouse and the bottling facility, on a tour lasting 1 and a half hours that concludes with the most appreciated step: the rum tasting!
